"This campground is
absolutely breathtaking. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's
like walking into a postcard. It's located on an island on
Lake Ontario...." |

"Here is a diamond in
the rough. Association Island is a complete destination resort....
The staff here does a fantastic job at everything.
. . . The Campstore, Pool, Marina, and roadways are immaculate. You
can chose to stay on the Lake side or Harbor side depending on
expected weather conditions. Every site has full hook-ups and they
have a site for any size rig.
We picked a weekend when the weather was very windy and chilly. But
on a hot summer day, the cool breezes from Lake Ontario will feel
great, and bugs are kept at a minimum.
If fishing and boating are your thing, this place is perfect. There
is easy water access to Henderson Harbor, Sacketts Harbor, and the
Thousand Islands Region. . . The marina is new with hook-ups at each
slip and an excellent breaker wall to eliminate rock and roll.
The prices can seem a bit high at first, but this place is first
class quality. We had a water view from every window of our camper.
Our fireplace was on the water with a perfect view of the harbor
entrance. Many hours were spent just watching the sailboats and
fishermen. We watched a fisherman cast his line and hook a large
fish before he could sit down!" |

"It was incredible. We drove across
a bridge on a island and camped right on the water. Beautiful views
and sunsets. Very unique. Did not want to leave. Reserved one week
and stayed 15 nights. Every thing was new and clean. Great new pool
and clean lake water. Great fishing. We caught many bass and perch
of (sic) the shore and marina. Shared a fishing charter with another
couple and caught huge lake trout. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Can't wait to return to view the stars and sunsets, hear and see the
water. Clean 50amp power, good potable water can't wait to see next
year's improvements We camped here in a Motorhome in 2003."

"Visited in 2002 (opening year) and
2003. Have made reservations for 2004. Sites right at water's edge
with cool breezes all summer. Perfect place to relax and unwind.
Improvements constant. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel in 2003."

"...on a bright sunny
day, what a splendid location...right out on an island in the
seaway...you will see ships going down the Seaway...new, nice
reception area, pretty good sized sites...a matchless location,
altho many of the of the state parks in that area are on the lake or
river and have nice views but not as many amenities...we lived in
that area and it is beautiful in the summer time and lots to do in
the 1000 Isla (sic)..." |

(RE: rental
cottages at RV resorts) "In NY, you might checkout Association
Island RV Resort. When we were there 2 yrs ago, they still had a lot
of work to do to qualify as a "resort" but it was obvious they were
pouring buckets of money into it and, if the money didn't run out,
it should be quite nice by now. Anyway, at that time they had a half
dozen or so cabins from yesteryear that they were updating - new
windows, siding, totally new interior walls, ceilings and floors,
complete and new appliances and new large decks, facing west over
the lake. It looked like they were doing a 1st class job." |
